I was prompted to create a motion graphics advertisement for a student project, designing one specifically for Apple AirPods. The final result can be seen below:
My first step in the creative process was to pick a song on which I would base the rest of my advertisement. I ended up choosing the song Alive by Empire of the sun. I then began gathering reference images using the software Pureref and Pinterest and compiled them.
From here, I brought the song into after effects and added markers for where I wanted things to happen based on the flow of the music. Finally, I drafted a basic timeline and shot list for what I was visualizing in my initial composition. This can be seen below:
I then designed storyboards using procreate for better visualization. I included multiple frames for each shot to better describe product motion, using red arrows to visualize direction. This can be seen below:
I finally designed a rough block out of the whole scene using After Effects to composite it together, which can be seen below. This eventually transitioned into the final animated video, showcased at the top of this page. The final pass was rendered entirely in cinema 4D, and then composited in after effects.
